Katie Holmes is more than familiar with starring in front of the camera as she has made dozens of movies since she was a teen, starting with the 1997 hit The Ice Storm.
However, with her latest work - short film Eternal Princess - the former Mrs Tom Cruise made her festival debut as a director.
And on Friday the 36-year-old looked laid-back in skinny jeans as she arrived at the movie's New York City premiere.

Katie wore a fitted white T-shirt, which she wore underneath a trendy, gold-studded black, sleeveless vest.
The former Dawson's Creek star coupled those with a pair of skin-tight black jeans, and chic black pumps.
The mother-of-one kept her accessories simple for the occasion, sporting a small gold bracelet on each wrist.
Standout: The actress's green eyes popped with her striking black eyeliner, though she balanced the look with a softer lipstick

Not photographed with the star was her eight-year-old daughter Suri - with ex-husband Tom Cruise - who is set to turn nine on April 18.
